The National Fruit Collection is one of the treasures of England, makes up the world’s most significant collection of fruit varieties. It is renowned for its scientific, horticultural and historic importance. Our Curriculum based programme breathes imagination, fun and discovery into learning.
For most people the word ‘education’ conjures up pictures of classrooms, but at Brogdale we aim to bring subjects to life through ‘hand’s on’ experiences. We have been working with FACE (Farming & Countryside Education) to create a programme, which links into the National Curriculum, Key Stage 2. The programme incorporates a series of interactive education activities with specific links to the science and geography curriculum whilst supporting sustainable development and healthy living.
We offer the option of two different educational packages:
A ‘Teacher Led’ Programme’, which includes a great teacher who will aid and guide pupils around the National Fruit Collections or alternatively a ‘Self Led’ Programme’, which provides the perfect platform to plan your own day.
Whichever package you choose, your class will have a memorable experience that will last long after they have returned to school.

“Let’s Get Cooking have been using Brogdale as a venue for our training and celebration events for a while now. We find the Brogdale farm a friendly, efficient and charming setting for our events. Facilities are good and the farm setting is a bit special and I know that our delegates always pop in the farm shop to buy treats after the training. We always look forward to returning to the Brogdale farm and would recommend the venue full heartedly”
